Q1: Tell us a little bit about you.
My name is Sarah and I live just outside Leeds with my husband and three wonderful children: Simon, Daniel and Suzy. They all keep me busy enough, but in my spare time I try to get out and about with my friends. The weather up here isn’t always great (LOL) so you can often find me in one of the local bingo halls having a laugh. To keep fit I go out power walking, and last year I tried out rowing for the first time.
Q2: How long have you been a Chat Host?
Coming up to 18 months now. I’ve been using the internet for years, though, to keep in touch with friends and family (I used to live abroad). Becoming a Chat Host seemed like an extension of this and I’m a bit of a gossiper anyway.
Q3: How did you become a Chat Host?
I applied for the job through a friend as a way to earn a bit of extra cash when the kids are at school. I loved it so much that I’ve been here ever since.
Q4: What do you like most about the job?
Gossiping with people from all over the UK. Everyone I speak to has their own unique story to tell, and bingo players are always a good laugh anyway. I love it when we’re running a Golden Ticket game and the chat rooms are really buzzing with excitement (like on the 30th April when we gave away a guaranteed £20,000 in one bingo game).
Q5: What is the worst part of the job?
The worst bit is that all my roomies can’t win every game!
Q6: Which are your favorite chat room games?
Bingo Battleships is a great one – we give away thousands of loyalty points with this game, and it’s an old favourite in our house. Speed Trivia is fun too. I’m always amazed by how much trivia you pick up over the years.
Q7: What is the funniest thing that has ever happened whilst you have been in a chat room?
The funniest moments are the reactions from players when they’ve won big. We’ve had players so excited after winning £10,000 that they’ve gone potty and started firing off hundreds of messages. Sometimes, our big winners start partying in their living rooms, and it feels like you’re there with them.
Q8: What makes a good Chat Host?
A sense of humour is definitely important. I like to think of our chat rooms as a social club: full of different personalities and opinions, but all in there to have a laugh and a good time. To be a good host you need to keep the conversation moving and make sure the chat games come fast and furious.
Q9: How would you like to see online bingo (as a whole) develop?
Wow, that’s a tricky one. I think part of the online bingo experience is the variety of games you can find online. Not just bingo, but also slots, blackjack, and loads of others. I reckon that the best bingo sites will offer the best choice of games, so there’s something for everyone.
Q10: Any other comments that you'd like to add about being a Chat Host?
I love being at chat host at BingoBingo.co.uk. I like the fact that I get to know all of the chatters personally (unlike some of those bigger sites – LOL).
All the team here at CMOTY would like to say a big 'TY' to Rose.
