Q1: Tell us a little bit about you.
I am 42 yrs young and have three beautiful daughters, we live in the East Midlands in the UK. I suppose I could be considered slightly nuts and probably a lot worse by some. LOL I enjoy reading and playing with my kids and I also do Nail Art. Of course I LOVE bingo as well!
Q2: How long have you been a Chat Host?
I have been a chat host for approximately a year and a half and have loved every minute of it!
Q3: How did you become a Chat Host?
I started by volunteering on a free site to do VCM work. Then I was hired at DesperateWivesBingo before they became a pay site, before I knew it I was doing it as a full time job when the site went live! It’s been great learning a new trade and my co-workers and roomies have been right beside me the whole way.
Q4: What do you like most about the job?
It really is a fantastic way to see and chat to so many different people from so many different walks of life. Sometimes I feel like an agony aunt and I love the fact that people come to see us and that I can help to cheer them up and make them smile and perhaps forget some of their worries and troubles for a little while.
Q5: What is the worst part of the job?
The worst part of the job is probably having to remove players from chat who are bringing the room down or disrupting chat. Really don’t like having to do that but it has to be done.
Q6: Which are your favorite chat room games?
Well it has got to be Diamonds and Coal lol. The roomies call it "Beat the Flooze" hahaha and they just love getting me to open my purse and hand over loads of Bingo Cash. We are playing it every Monday night from 8 till 10 currently, but since the roomies love it so much we are going to increase it to 2 nights a week come April!
Q7: What is the funniest thing that has ever happened whilst you have been in a chat room?
It has got to be when chatting to a roomie from Ireland and I asked a really “blonde” question . I asked if you needed a passport to travel from Northern Ireland to Southern Ireland. I think the whole room fell off their chairs laughing. And I didn’t live it down for quite a while lol. We have a ton of laughs every day and night, never a dull moment when I am in chat! LOL
Q8: What makes a good Chat Host?
I think being able to talk to people and just be able to have a giggle whilst watching to make sure that everyone is included as much as possible. Also judging whether or not people want to chat. Some just want to play bingo and chat games and don’t want to get involved in chat and you have to respect that. A good chat host must have the ability to keep chat moving while having fun and that’s what it's all about!
Q9: How would you like to see online bingo (as a whole) develop?
I would love to see people from all over the world being able to play bingo (legally) from the comfort of their own homes. I would like for easier and cheaper depositing and withdrawing methods so that it becomes a fun and hassle free form of entertainment for folks. It would be awesome to have cross tournaments from differnt sites to win huge prizes as a combined efforts between bingo sites, and maybe yearly Bingo Bashes at various casinos around the world.
Q10: Any other comments that you'd like to add about being a Chat Host?
Being a Chat Host at Desperate Wives Bingo is great! It's hard work, there are lots of things to do and keep up with but it's the best job I could ever have the pleasure of working. Playing & chattinng with roomies is so much fun. I look forward to going to work everyday to see what's new with my roomies and maybe make a little differrence in their lives.
